The Vision: A Unique, Gaming-Centric Resort Destination

With its authentic historic attractions, unmatched scenic mountain backdrop and nearby recreational opportunities, Black Hawk is poised to broaden its appeal to visitors seeking gaming and more.

The City of Black Hawk has plans to realign Gregory Street, located within the HARD District®, to create the Gregory Street HARD District® experience. The District will accommodate a pedestrian-friendly entertainment setting within blocks of the GOLD District® that is home to existing casinos. This will create development opportunities to enhance the gaming experience with targeted amenities, such as:

  • Craft Breweries, Distilleries and Tasting Rooms
  • Restaurants
  • Entertainment Venues
  • An Event/Conference Venue
  • Local Specialty Retailers and Craftsman
  • Outdoor Recreation Facilities
  • Educational Experiences with Historic Properties
  • The Transformation of Nearby Maryland Mountain / Quartz Valley Open Space to Include:
    • Hiking trails to the Belden & Tennal and Bonanza Mill and Mine Sites
    • Mountain biking trails
    • A mountain biking skills park for beginner to intermediate levels
    • A banquet/event facility at Quartz Valley, featuring indoor and outdoor event hosting and winter sleigh rides, along with alternate season hay wagon rides
