The City of Black Hawk accepts online applications for Police Officer I positions year round. Applicants must be POST Certified or in the process of¬†achieving their POST Certification to be considered. Applications will remain active for one (1) year from the date of submission and will be considered as openings occur. Applicants are required to upload their resumes using the online application process. ¬†

Applicant is defined as those people who:
- Have applied for a specific position or eligibility list for which the City of Black Hawk is acting to fill.
- Meet the predefined, documented minimum requirements related to a specific, open position or eligibility list.
- Apply for the position during the period that the applicant flow log remains open.
- Comply with the City of Black Hawk's formal requirements and procedures.
Applicants must successfully complete several pre-employment skills tests. The City of Black Hawk conducts pre-employment screenings and background investigations, which may include but are not limited to, psychological exam, physical examination, drug testing, and background investigation as conditions of employment.
