Patrol

The Patrol Division consists of seventeen (19) police officers, three (4) sergeants, and one (1) Commander. The Patrol Division is committed to the philosophy of community policing, problem-solving, and innovation while maintaining traditional community values. We pride ourselves on maintaining a well-trained diverse workforce needed to serve our residents and visitors. Officers in the Patrol Division handle a variety of calls with a personalized customer service orientation consistent with a small-town environment. Officers combine general patrol duties with foot patrol activities in both residential and business areas to prevent crime and respond to calls for service. The emphasis on customer service and the development of professional relationships has created positive police-citizen relationships in our community.

Police Officers in Black Hawk are responsible for normal police-related activities such as traffic enforcement, responding to calls of service, conducting investigations, and crime prevention. The Division supports these efforts by providing officers with modern equipment, exceptional training opportunities, and avenues for professional growth. We focus our efforts on providing officers with the tools they need to provide exceptional service to our citizens.
