City of Black Hawk Cleanup Day
The Mayor and Board of Aldermen for the City of Black Hawk support an annual community Cleanup Day event. The Mayor, Board of Aldermen, Historic Preservation Commission, City employees, residents, consultants, outside agencies, and commercial businesses all participate in this annual social event. The City's Cleanup day is traditionally held in May as the City gets ready for the annual Founder's Day celebration.
Litter abatement is a year-round responsibility but is especially important as the City prepares for the arrival of warmer weather and the outdoor exploration of the City. The City of Black Hawk offers many hiking and biking trails as well as outdoor shopping opportunities.
The City does it's best to make this event fun for all volunteers by supplying a light breakfast, supplies, and a hearty catered lunch. The City is grateful to JKQ BBQ at Crook's Palace for catering this festive event and providing a fabulous meal after a morning of hard work .
