Municipal Court

The Black Hawk municipal court handles traffic cases, municipal code violations, and parking tickets. The court has original jurisdiction over all misdemeanor municipal code, ordinance, and traffic violations occurring within the city limits of the City of Black Hawk.

The City of Black Hawk holds Municipal Court at the Robert A. Clark Emergency Operations Center on the Last Wednesday of each month at 1:00pm.  The Municipal Court Administrative hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm.

From Black Hawk, turn south on Mill Street, go through the traffic light and follow the road up the hill to Miners Mesa Rd., turn left and follow up the mountain.  When you hit the top, it will flatten out, and it will be the first building on your left.

Pay Court fines and fees online - ALLPAID

Pay fines in person at the Black Hawk Municipal Court Clerks' Office located inside the Police Department at 221 Church Street, Black Hawk CO 80422.

Black Hawk Municipal Court accepts cash, checks, credit cards (Visa/Master Card/American Express/Discover), and prepaid debit cards. There is not an ATM machine at the Gilpin County Justice Center.

Black Hawk Municipal Court does not handle Driving Under the Influence, Driving While Impaired by drugs or alcohol, or any kind of vehicle registration complaints. We do not handle domestic violence cases. These violations are handled by the Gilpin County Court, located at 2960 Dory Hill Road, Black Hawk, CO 80422. Their number is 303-582-5522.
